The rooms

Can I book a specific room?+

Yes. Each of our 9 rooms can be reserved individually by name when you book directly through our website. On OTAs (Booking.com, Expedia) you select the room type and we assign the specific named room based on availability.

Do all rooms have a private bathroom?+

Yes. All 9 rooms have a private en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower, bidet, hairdryer, and toiletries.

Can the twin beds be configured as a double?+

Yes. Virginia and Margherita are flexible rooms (15 m²): the bed can be configured as a queen-size double or split into two single beds depending on your needs. Just let us know at booking.

Is the family suite suitable for 4 adults?+

Yes. The Caterina & Gridonia suite (35 m²) has two communicating bedrooms with two private bathrooms. One bedroom has a king-size bed, the other a queen that splits into two singles. It comfortably hosts up to 4 guests, adults or children.

How are the rooms different from each other?+

Each room is named after a Renaissance noblewoman with her own decorative theme and color palette. Sizes range from 15 m² (Virginia, Margherita) to 35 m² (Caterina & Gridonia suite). All share the same standards: Murano chandeliers, en-suite bathroom, frescoed common areas access. Specific differences are in size, view, and decorative details.

The palazzo and the family

Who runs Borgia di Firenze?+

Borgia di Firenze is family-run by the Borgia family, operating through Giglia srl. The property is hands-on managed, not a chain or franchise.

What is Palazzo Santa Trinita?+

Palazzo Santa Trinita is an 18th-century palazzo located at Via del Parione 1 in central Florence. It hosts Borgia di Firenze on a single floor and is a five-minute walk from Ponte Vecchio.

Are the common areas frescoed?+

Yes. The salotto features a newly commissioned fresco cycle, begun in 2022 by Maestro Silvestro Pistolesi and continued since 2024 by Maestro Massimo Callossi, both pupils of Pietro Annigoni, along with hand-blown Murano-glass chandeliers commissioned specifically for the property. The rooms themselves are not frescoed.

Why are the rooms named after Renaissance noblewomen?+

Each of the 9 rooms is named after a Renaissance noblewoman whose story echoes the spirit of the palazzo: Caterina, Gridonia, Ginevra, Olimpia, Lucrezia, Isabella, Clarice, Ortensia, Virginia, and Margherita. Each room tells a piece of her story.

Where can I read guest reviews?+

Verified guest reviews are available on Booking.com and Expedia.
